Copies of the Treasurers Report were distributed and approved. Copies of the board meeting were handed out for everyone to review. Copies of the last club meeting were handed out. Tom L. reviewed with everyone the board’s meeting with Kevin Bullard. It was Kevin’s opinion we’d have between 5-10 years left at our current location. Tom L. opened it up to questions about the field. It was asked size of field we are looking for. We need around 6.5 acres + parking with an over fly area of 53 acres or so. It was asked that everyone keep there eyes and ears open and if they new of something let the field committee know about it. The field committee is going to generate a business plan on how we can acquire a future replacement field. It was brought up the
Field cleanup was announced for April 12th .
It was brought up that the goal of the board was to start doing fundraisers to billed up the coffers for the future field needs. Tom L. mentioned that last year we lost money. However this year we have already collected enough to cover our maintenance. Any additional moneys would be placed in CD’s by Harry R.
Tom L. thanked Harry R. for his hard work in filling out the AMA club paperwork each and every year.
We discussed the new sign and club flyer. It was suggested by Jason Skinner that we place flyers in Martins Supermarket etc to generate interest. Kenny G. suggested we might also hang them up at the local radio shack, due to the fact they offer smaller R/C planes.
It was brought up that the club is considering a porta-john. The porta-john will be placed by Kevin’s turn-around prior to our field. Everyone seemed to think it was a good idea. Jim Bowers volunteered to check on prices. He thought they ran $45-$55/month.
The club talked about future club events: The fun-fly in the summer may include a tailgate swap. We’d like to open it up to the public and other R/C clubs. We also intend to do another junkyard build in December.
The next meeting will be a Saturday at Homan Lumber so we can finish the Mojo build session.
Larry Miller did a show and tell on a Pilot Kit PT-19 Fairchild he has started to build. He had the body and partially build tail feathers for display.
Meeting was adjourned.
The mojo build continued.
